Timon van der Hijden is co-founder of the collective Letterproeftuin. Since its inception in 2010, Letterproeftuin’s delightful public works have challenged the limits of printing technology in ways big and small. The traveling collective was founded and is managed by graphic designers Timon van der Hijden, Yorit Kluitman, and Jaron Korvinus, who each work autonomously in their respective studios throughout the year. They convene three to four times annually to present site-specific workshops and exhibitions engineered to highlight creative processes, encourage collaboration and sharing, and satisfy the trio’s self- professed “passion for printmaking.”
Timon van der Hijden was co-founder and partner of La Bolleur until 2014. La Bolleur is a multidisciplinary design studio, founded by a group of thinkers and makers who take having fun seriously. This eclectic collective of designers evolved from organizing parties and dinners during their study at Design Academy Eindhoven to an office that applies the skills of each individual member in projects involving graphic-, product- and spatial design. Their aim to create a pleasant world using creativity is embedded in both commissioned and self-initiated projects. La Bolleur achieved international recognition with their Mini Golf Club in Milan and were awarded the Dutch Design Award for best integrated brand communication for its graphic design.
